Chicks with Picks was launched in October 2009 (with much loving assistance from the fabulous Snatch & Grab crew, LOTL Magazine and Sapphic Sydney) in an effort to create the sort of event that I felt was missing from the Sydney music and girls scenes. Since then it’s pretty much gone gangbusters as Sydney’s one and only acoustic open mic night for girls with guitars and purveyors of the like.
At 4pm on the second Sunday of every month, Sydney’s most talented ladies take the stage at the Clare Hotel, while the rest of us lay back in the cozy couches, beer in hand, and scoff down some mean grub – courtesy of the Snatch & Grab BBQ crew.
In true open mic style there are no auditions or any of that crap, and whilst the focus is on chicks with guitars it’s always nice to break the evening up so we’re open to any style of performance. For more info on performing click here.
